Thursday's snow day was exciting! The snow really does make it feel like Christmas time. Thank you to Mrs. Orr for the wonderful Holiday Program. The children sounded and looked fantastic.
Even with the missed day, we will still be taking our Topic 6 Assessment next Tuesday, Reviews are due back on Monday. Our Wonder's essential question for the week was How can people help out their community? In the stories which were nonfiction, we learned about providing solar power to villages and taking books to those with no access to libraries. We also had good discussions on how we can be some one who can hep out in our own community. Our next How To... writing is about making a snowman which many students practiced yesterday! We had a synonym snowball fight to practice words that have similar meanings. Students are researching and gathering information for their Wax Museum presentation. The final project will include a paragraph of important information from their lives and a chronological timeline.
3 days next week. Monday & Tuesday will be "routine" as we wrap up projects across the curriculum. But there is a lot happening on Wednesday. Here is what you need to know.
1. It is pajama day so students can wear there pjs to school. They may also bring slippers but must have shoes as well.
2. Because of our hard work on MAP testing and taking our time, students earned a popcorn/movie/stuffed animal celebration so students can bring in ONE stuffed animal. Any size within reason and parent judgement!
3. Our class party is at 11. All are invited. Please have your child bring in a $5 gift for a gift exchange.
I will be enjoying all of the delicious cookies from the Cookie walk,
Marissa Wilhelm
