This week, we celebrated Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss. Every day we read. We read in the hall, outside, with our buddies, read to by Mrs. Jagels, with the school and read to by high school students! There was a lot of reading going on! Thanks to Mrs. Schneider for organizing this event. Don't forget to keep reading The Chocolate Touch at home. Only a few chapter left! There is a 5 lb. chocolate bar at stake!
Our science topic this quarter is habitats. Here at school, students will be working with a partner to learn about the non-living and living objects in the habitats. In addition to the research, students will be creating a Google Slide presentation, a food chain and a mural. This week, we learned about the desert and arctic habitat. Each habitat has a unique set of plants and animals.
We are making progress through Topic 9. I will email out about the upcoming assessment. I am thinking we may just have an in class review since students have a solid set. I'll let you know. Using the Chrome books to examine a timeline of the history of M&M's and answer questions. Did you know that M&M's are on all flights to space and that there is a Guinness World Record for the largest pinata is the shape of an orange M&M!
Next week is a 3 day week. Conferences are on Thursday.(Sign-Up). No school for students on Thursday or Friday.
Happy March!
