Spring is here and today is the end of the third quarter! That means we have only 42 more days this school year! Thanks to the dads, grandpas and uncles who came to Donuts with Dads. We were so glad to have you! Thanks for all of the donations for Jump Rope for Hearts. On Thursday, students jumped, hopped, crawled and had a fun time! `
Next week on Monday and Tuesday (possibly Wednesday- if needed or for make-ups), we have our In-View testing. These scores are used for of enrichment opportunities for students in the 3rd and 4th grades. We will take them first thing in the morning and finish them up after special. Please make sure students are well rested, have a good breakfast and are on time.
With testing next week, we will still keep our normal routine as possible. We will start Topic 11- Subtracting Within 1,000 using models and strategies. Students will learn the strategies of counting back and adding up on a number line and subtracting mentally. Students will have to be able to explain how the strategies work. They will also learn to model three-digit subtraction using tools.
We are continuing to work on habitat reports. Students started their food chains this week. Don't forget to turn in permission forms for our field trip. Forms & a check payment of $7 is due by April 12th. Let me know if you are interested in attending. It is on April 26th from 9 to 1:30/2 ish.
Next week is Marco's Pizza Night. If you order online- Redwood will get an EXTRA 5% of the order. Don't forget to link your order to Redwood by choosing the Fundraising tab and picking Redwood! Here is some information about Redwood's Barnes and Noble Book Fair.
Have a nice warm weekend,
