Week of March 27th
Students worked extremely hard this week on testing. I was very proud of how hard they worked and concentrated. I can really see how much growth we have made and how they are maturing into third graders. This week was the start of the fourth quarter. This year has truly flown by and from here on out, it will be BUSY! We still have a bit to do before the end of the year!
We wrapped up our Wonders biography stories this week. Students had some good thoughts on what makes a hero and who every day heroes are. There was also some Batman, Superman & Avengers talk as well! Our next writing piece will be Compare & Contrast paragraphs. For a culminating activity, students will compare their habitat to another habitat. Mrs. Potonic visited us from the Lorain County Metro Parks. She shared insight and examples of the habitats that surround Redwood. She shared animal hides and two real life animals- a turtle & toad. Students started on their murals for their habitat reports. They are already looking good!
We will be wrapping up Topic 11- Subtracting to 1,000 next week already. Students are bringing home the review that is due back on Wednesday with the test on Thursday. The remainder of our math units are the skills of measurement, data/graphs & geometry. These are exciting, hands-on lessons!
