What a great start to the school! This is a special group of students. We have taken the first few days to get to know each other and learn just how special everyone is. This year our motto is to be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons. Stand out for being YOU! We read What If Everybody Did That? and Peanut Butter and Cupcake to understand the character traits of being a good friend and classmate. We brainstormed what a great classmate says, does, is and isn't! Everyone promised to work to be a good, positive and encouraging classmate. After discussing what we want our classroom to feel and look like, we created 3 class rules to keep us on track: 1. Be Kind
                                                                                       2. Show Respect To Others
                                                                                       3. Work Hard

All of our supplies are sorted and organized. Don't forget your child needs headphones and art/paint shirt. Students got a pencil that if they can keep it until September 30th they will have a chance of pieing the teacher. Every day this week we practiced routines and classroom procedures. Students learned about our class library, turning in papers (NAME & NUMBER!!!!), journals and much more! Next week, we will begin Topic 1- Addition & Subtraction to 20 in Envisions (Math) and Unit One- Week One in Wonders Reading program.
