Week of December 7th

Our schedule has been CrAzY! We had several music practices and MAP testing. Next week will also be busy as it is our FINAL week before break! A lot is happening. Here are some important dates to know:

Wednesday, December 16th @ 9:15- 2nd Grade Holiday Music Performance
Thursday, December 17th- Pajama Day
Friday, December 18th @ 11- Holiday Party

In math, we learned how to borrow also known as regrouping. We are having great success! We will take a shorten assessment next week so the skill is fresh in our minds before we go on break. There will be no at home review. Just a quick check here at school. Topic 7 after the break is a review of addition and subtraction strategies which will be good after the long break. We will all need a review!

Our story was When I Grow Up and then we wrote about what we want to be when we grow up. We have a future fashion designer, S.W.A.T. member, basketball player, mailman, technology teacher, Army man, drummer and many more. I am excited to hear what the students will become one day. Some ideas may change before then! During centers, we read Christmas books, edited Christmas sentences, wrote about being stuck in a snow globe and used Raz-Kids. Over the Christmas break, there will be a Raz-Kids competition so look for more information coming home this week.

We are continuing to work on our biographies. We have started the rough draft our rough draft timeline and the important facts. This will be our main focus next week as we will not have a story or spelling words.

Thanks,
Marissa Wilhelm
