We are plugging along in math with the start of Topic 3- Add Within 100 Using Strategies. In this topic, one strategy will be to learn to add two-digit numbers using place-value strategies on a hundred chart. For this strategy, you find at a number on the chart. As you move down from the number, the number increases by 10 for each square. As you move to the right from the number, the number increases by 1 for each square. This and a variety of strategies will be presented and students must find one that works for them.
In preparation for field trip to the ALPL next Wednesday, we have been digging into our Force & Motion lessons. We brainstormed what motion is and how it makes objects move. We learned the two forms of motion- push & pull and how friction is working against motion. We still have a few slots available if you would like to join us. We will leave at 12:50 and arrive back at Redwood at 2:30. Let me know if you can attend. Since this is an in-city field trip, there is no additional permission form needed. You can save the date for our out-of-city field trip to the Cleveland Museum of History on April 25th as a part of our habitat unit.
