Happy Halloween! We had a great Halloween parade and party! Thank you to those who helped and came to the parade/party. Everyone had a great time! We completed some Halloween activities throughout the week including candy corn arrays, Spooky Animal Scholastic News, how to make a monster writing and synonym spiders!
We are at the end of Topic 4- Adding to 100 Fluently. Students are bringing home the practice review. It is due back on Tuesday, November 7th with the test on Wednesday. Here is the answer key.
In Wonders our essential question for the week was How are offspring like their parents? Vocabulary for the week included offspring, adult, covered and mammal. One story was about Eagles and Eaglets which we know a lot about since we have them at Redwood! The other story was all about bears. Did you know that bears have 2 coats of skin? Did you know there are 8 types of bears? This expository text taught use many facts and had several text features including diagrams, labels, captions and heading. Our strategy for the week was Main Topic & Key Details. We will finish this up next week.
